Recently on a trip to Puerto Vallarta Mexico I had the opportunity to try Scuba Diving – something I’ve been intrigued about since I started snorkeling on our annual tropical vacations over the past 18 years or so. We booked the trip at the very last minute, booking on a Wednesday and leaving 2 days later. We stayed at the Holiday Inn and I took a introductory lesson with Arthur, a Certified Instructor with PADI – of Twin Dolphin Diving Company.
Myself along with Monika and Robert from Alberta would share our first time venturing below the sea. We were up bright and early and met our crew at the Marina. We were very relieved to see that Twin Dolphins had so many experienced divers that would take us on our maiden voyage. Our Crew consisted of the Tony our Captain, Master Diver – Raul, Assistant Diver Julien and another diver (I can’t remember his name) and Jean Paul – the videographer from Producciones Pulpo.
We headed out about 20 minutes to a dive location called Los Arcos where we would embark on two separate dives. I was anxiously nervous – especially when they strapped on the really heavy tank and perched me on the edge and told me to fall backwards into the water! The second dive I felt a little more at ease and after it was over – I realized that it was an awesome experience I will never forget.
Scuba Diving was on my bucket list and I feel a tremendous sense of accomplishment and know that I can be brave when I need to be. It obviously took me out of my comfort zone – I look forward to so many more experiences.
I am thrilled to be able to share this adventure with you – I hope you enjoy the video. I feel blessed and so very fortunate to observe the beauty of the life under water.
